DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the financial affairs of the City; maintains reasonable flow of cash; processes invoices on a timely basis; manages City payroll activities; invests idle City funds in interest bearing instruments; responsible for budget preparation and amendment activities; advises the City Council, City Administrator and other departments on budget/financial matters; evaluates past financial trends, forecasts future trends and financial position of the City; recommends action toward loss control and related day-to-day insurance matters; serves as City Clerk and manages activities thereof, coordinates municipal election activities, and maintains all official City records; and supervises employees of the department; directing work activities, reviews and evaluates employee performance and counsels employees as needed.
