RESOLUTION #09-104
Resolution to Approve of “Downtown” /“Commercial” clean-up.
WHEREAS, The City performs a semi-annual City Wide clean-up, and
WHEREAS, There has been some expressed interest in the City considering a Downtown or Commercial property clean-up, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds it appropriate to move forward with a limited Downtown / Commercial Clean-up, subject to the terms and conditions of the letter attached hereto from the City Administrator to the eligible businesses, and
WHEREAS, The Public Works Director and/or the City Administrator, or their designee, is hereby authorized to implement this clean – up program, and to exercise their discretion in determining if any given request meets the spirit or purpose of this clean – up, which is not to provide a free pick up of regularly occurring waste, but rather to assist a business owner of clearing out other accumulations of business type property that cannot easily be put out with their normal garbage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby authorize the Public Works Director and/or the City Administrator to implement a downtown / commercial clean – up program, and to exercise their discretion in determining if any given request meets the spirit or purpose of this clean – up as set out within this Resolution, and the attached Memorandum of the City Administrator on this topic.
