All yard waste shall be separated by the owner or occupant from all other solid waste accumulated on the premises and shall be composted or burned on the premises or placed in proper containers and set out for collection. “Yard Waste” means any debris such as grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, brush and trees. Yard waste does not include tree stumps. Yard waste consisting of tree limbs of less than four (4) inches in diameter and brush will be collected when not in approved containers provided it is placed at the curb or alley line, securely tied in bundles not more than forty-eight (48) inches long or eighteen (18) inches in diameter and weighing no more than fifty (50) pounds per bundle. Code of Ordinances 105.06 NOTE: Public Works Department has discretion to pick up non-compliant yard waste and special arrangements may be made for unusual amounts of yard waste by advance contact with our Public Works department,(Call City Hall @ 319.465.6435) Also, larger branches/limbs may be taken by residents to City Tree Dump, located on the roadway to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, off of East 1st Street.
