RESOLUTION #10-106
Resolution to authorize submission of IDOT Pavement Maintenance Application and to further authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Iowa
Department of Transportation Agreement for Airport Pavement Maintenance
Grant, if and when the Grant is awarded.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello is the owner of the Monticello Regional Airport, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has supported major improvements and continued maintenance and renovation at/to the Monticello Regional Airport throughout the years, and
WHEREAS, The Airport has been the recipient of various donations and grants, and
WHEREAS, The IDOT Aviation Division has funding available to assist with the costs related to required Pavement Maintenance, and
WHEREAS, The Pavement Maintenance Grant Application to be submitted requests funding from the IDOT in the amount of $3,105, or 70% of the proposed maintenance costs of $4,435, with the balance of $1,330 to be paid from the City Airport Budget, and
WHEREAS, Upon Grant Approval, the IDOT will send a “Grant Agreement” to the City for approval, and the Council finds that if the Application is successful it would be appropriate to authorize the mayor and City Clerk to execute said agreement by way of this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the submission of the Pavement Maintenance Grant Application to the IDOT and further authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the IDOT Airport Pavement Maintenance Grant Agreement if and when it is received by the City.
