The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #10-127
Approving entry into Lease and Maintenance Agreement with Business Systems, Inc. and their agents related to the leasing of Multi-Functional Devices for the Clerk’s Office, Park and Recreation, Police Department, and Monticello Public Library, and to further authorize the termination of our existing agreements with CITI Capital (a/k/a CIT) and Solutions Management Group (SMG).
WHEREAS, The Monticello City Council has been presented with a proposal by City staff to terminate current lease and service agreements related to MFD’s (copy machines) and other IT equipment of the City, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the proposal set forth by staff results in an annual cost savings to the City, results in the City owning the phone system and other computer related components that were previously subject to a lease agreement, results not only in an upgrade of used equipment with new but also upgraded equipment that can better serve the needs of the departments, and further allows for and provides flexibility to modify service agreements during the course of the lease agreement, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the staff associated with and involved with this equipment are supportive of this change and that the change of equipment and service provider appears to be in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the City Administrator to execute those documents necessary to effectuate the termination of the present lease and service agreement and to enter into a new lease and service agreement as proposed with Business Systems, Inc. and/or their agents.
