RESOLUTION #10-17
Requesting and Inviting Monticello Community School District, School Board, to use the Community Media Center for School Board Meetings for filming and playback on Local Access Channel, or, in the alternative, requesting that School Board submit recorded version of meetings to Local Access Coordinator for playback on Local Access Channel.
WHEREAS, The Monticello City Council and Mayor desire to make clear the extension of an invitation to the Monticello School Board to hold their meetings in the Community Media Center, i.e. the Council Chambers, for purposes of taping and playing their meetings on the Monticello Local Access Channel, and
WHEREAS, If the School Board does not wish to meet at the Community Media Center, the City Council, and Mayor, do hereby request that the School take steps to have their meetings recorded so that same may be played back on the local access channel, and
WHEREAS, The City finds it to be in the best interests of the public for School Board meetings to be played on the local access channel, and respectfully requests that the School Board take advantage of the opportunity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby request and Invite Monticello Community School District, School Board, to use the Community Media Center for School Board Meetings for filming and playback on Local Access Channel, or, in the alternative, requests that School Board submit recorded version of meetings to Local Access Coordinator for playback on Local Access Channel, and hereby directs the City Administrator to provide a copy of this letter to the Superintendent and the School Board President.
