RESOLUTION #10-81
Resolution authorizing the hiring of a temporary Full-Time Police Officer, Bob Urbain.
WHEREAS, The City Police Department is currently operating with only four full time officers, two less than in the past, and
WHEREAS, The Interim Chief has explained to the City Council the need for more coverage and the availability of a temporary Full – Time certified officer who has served the City in a part time capacity over the last couple of years, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that to cover shifts, to avoid overtime, and to take into account vacations and other time off, that the hiring of a temporary FT officer is appropriate, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the officer’s starting wage and benefits should be the same as those offered other “new” full time officers, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that a document should be drafted for consideration and approval by the officer, acknowledging that his position is temporary, with the actual anticipated length of his employment being presently undeterminable.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council does hereby authorizes the hiring of Bob Urbain, as a temporary FT police officer with starting wages and benefits commensurate with those normally applicable to new full-time certified police officers.
