The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 11-127
Approving “Agreement on State Sponsorship and Airport Sponsor Obligations” related to AWOS equipment replacement.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello is the owner of the Monticello Regional Airport, and
WHEREAS, The State of Iowa IDOT Aviation Division has requested that the City of Monticello consent to the submission of an application by the IDOT with the FAA requesting funding related to the replacement of outdated AWOS equipment at the Monticello Regional Airport and other similarly situated airports, and
WHEREAS, The costs related to the replacement of the AWOS equipment at the Monticello Airport would be applied against City of Monticello Airport non-primary entitlement funds presently on the books with the FAA, and
WHEREAS, Similar to AIP projects that the City has been involved in from time to time, the local cost share totals 5%, however, in this case the City of Monticello would not have to meet the cost share obligation as the IDOT Aviation Division would be responsible for the 5% “local” cost share.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the execution and submission of the “Agreement on State Sponsorship and Airport Sponsor Obligations”, and directs the Airport Manager to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
