IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-148
Re-Appointing Britt Smith as Monticello Chief of Police
WHEREAS, The Mayor Pro Tem, John Sauser recommends to the City Council that Britt Smith be re-appointed Chief of Police, and
WHEREAS, The Chief of Police previously negotiated the terms of an Employment Agreement with the City and is presently in year two of said agreement, and
WHEREAS, The re-appointment of the Chief of Police annually by the City Council is required by the City Code, and
WHEREAS, The City Council has considered the proposed re-appointment of Britt Smith as Chief of Police, understands that he accepts the re-appointment, and finds that the re-appointment is in the best interests of the City of Monticello, and by this Resolution does hereby confirm the re-appointment of Chief Smith.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Monticello, Iowa does hereby ratify and approve the appointment of Britt Smith as the City of Monticello Chief of Police, effective November 1, 2011 through and including October 31, 2012.
