The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-34
Resolution to waive portion of John Sauser Sewer bill.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that John Sauser experienced a much higher than normal water/sewer billing for the period of 1/5/2011 – 2/14/2011, and
WHEREAS, It has been reported that the substantial increase in water usage by Sauser was related to a spigot on the outside of the home, allowing the water to run freely into the lawn, therefore not entering the sanitary sewer system, and was therefore not treated at the Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, Based upon the fact that the leaking water did not receive treatment at the sewage treatment facility, the Council finds it appropriate to waive that portion of the sewer billing that exceeds the normal and customary sewer usage by Sauser, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the normal sewer usage billing for Sauser was approximately $18.23 per month, having been at or about that amount for a number of months, and finds, therefore, that the sewage billing of $49.07 if reduced by the normal usage of $18.23, would support a credit of $30.84.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby waive a portion of the Sewer portion of the Sauser account, as described herein, in the amount of $30.84.
