THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-66
Resolution to approve Project Agreement between Jones County and the City of Monticello with regard to the Hardscrabble Road project.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City has been approached by Jones County, through the Jones County Engineer, with a request that the City share in the costs related to the resurfacing and related improvements to Hardscrabble Road, on the north end of Monticello, where Hardscrabble Road extends from the intersection of 11th Street and Birch Streets, and
WHEREAS, A section of Hardscrabble Road is in the City limits of the City of Monticello, and for that reason the Council finds it appropriate to share in the costs related to said resurfacing project, and
WHEREAS, The County has proposed a project agreement setting out the rights and responsibilities of the parties, with the agreement providing that the City would be responsible for a 28% project share, based upon 28% of the project lying within the City limits of Monticello, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds it to be an appropriate and beneficial project for the City to be involved with and further finds the project agreement to be satisfactory and appropriate.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 2nd day of May, 2011, that the Project Agreement related to the Hardscrabble Road project, between Jones County and the City of Monticello is fair and appropriate and the Mayor Pro Tem is hereby authorized to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
