THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-73
Resolution approving Plans and Specifications, Form of Contract, and Engineer’s cost estimate related to the Monticello Regional Airport Terminal Building,
AIP Project 3-19-0061-06.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City Council previously approved the preparation of plans and specifications related to the construction of the Monticello Regional Airport Terminal Building, and
WHEREAS, the Council previously approved the use of City Federal AIP funds to compensate Snyder and Associated, the City Engineer, for purposes of Terminal Building design, and
WHEREAS, Snyder and Associates, Inc. has been selected to complete construction plans, detailed specifications, and a cost estimate for the AIP Grant including the work necessary for the Construction of an Airport Terminal Building, and
WHEREAS, after many months of planning, the Airport Board has finalized plans for the Terminal Building and the FAA has approved the plans, finding the plans to be eligible for 95% FAA funding, with the City being responsible for the 5% cost share, and
WHEREAS, the federal aviation administration (FAA) has recommended that the City of Monticello, initiate actions necessary to obtain bids for FY 2011 airport improvement program (AIP) 3-19-0061-06, and
WHEREAS, the Council previously authorized the City Engineer to advertise the Terminal Building project for bids and to take bids related thereto, after which the Council will be in a position to consider the bids received and to make further decisions related to the project design and final scope, and
WHEREAS, the Council met at this regular council meeting to accept comments from the public related to the final plans and specifications, form of contract, and cost estimate related to the project, and
WHEREAS, after the Public Hearing, the Council finds that the final plans and specifications, form of contract, and engineer’s cost estimate should be approved, and
WHEREAS, the Council further finds that it may consider changes to the project after the receipt of bids and a review of funding sources.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 16th day of May 2011, that the plans and specifications, form of contract, and engineer’s cost estimate are hereby formally and finally approved, the Council will, with the assistance and advice of the Airport board, consider whether any changes to the plans so approved are justified and/or appropriate after the receipt and consideration of bids and a review of all project funding sources.
