The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-90
Approving wages for Library staff for FY ’12.
WHEREAS, Most City employees wages are covered by a collective bargaining agreement where wages are pre-determined, and some are covered by employment agreements where wages and planned increases were bargained for and previously determined (City Administrator, Police Chief, Ambulance Director), and
WHEREAS, Other City employees or positions are not covered by collective bargaining, such as the City Clerk, P.W. Director, Park and Rec. Director, City Custodian/Maintenance Man, Library Director and staff, Ambulance Volunteers, and Police Sergeant and Police Secretary / Local Access Coordinator, and
WHEREAS, The bargaining unit employees are set to get raises in the coming year in the approximate amount of 2.5%, same having been negotiated this year, FY ’12 being the first year of the four year agreement, and
WHEREAS, The City Council has historically granted wages to non-bargaining staff in a similar, but not necessarily equal, manner to bargaining employees, and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the Library Board, the following rates of pay will be paid to the indentified library employees, same to take effect July 1, 2011:
Nancy Digmann $38,068.07 (Salary)
Michelle Turnis $10.25 / Hour (2.5% increase)
Janeece Lasley $ 7.69 / Hour (2.5% increase)
Jayme Sykora $ 7.25 / Hour (0% increase)
Blair Benz $ 8.20 / Hour (2.5% increase),
WHEREAS, all of the above wage increases were contemplated and accounted for in the FY ’11 budget as previously approved by the City Council, however, unlike all other City staff, in addition to the above increases, the above staff saw an approximate wage increase of 4% in January of 2011.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the wages and salaries set out above, said wages to take effect and be applicable to the first payroll issued during the month of July, 2011
