IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-94
Resolution Authorizing Mayor Pro Tem to execute letter to Ombudsman’s Office in response to Ombudsman’s Office Report
WHEREAS, A complaint alleging an Open Meetings violation by the Monticello City Council was the topic of an investigation by the Iowa Citizens’ Aide/Ombudsman, and
WHEREAS, The Ombudsman’s Office submitted a report with cover letter dated the 9th day of May, 2011 to the City Council, setting forth its findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and
WHEREAS, The Ombudsman’s report requested action by the City Council and a response from the City Council to said report, and
WHEREAS, The City Council has considered the report and related recommendations of the Ombudsman, and based thereon has directed the City Administrator to prepare a response for consideration and approval by the Council, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator has prepared a letter at the Council’s direction, the Council has reviewed said letter, finds that the letter accurately sets forth the position of the City Council, and finds that the Mayor Pro Tem should be directed to sign said letter on the Council’s behalf.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the letter directed to the Citizens’ Aide Ombudsman, a copy of same being attached hereto, and does hereby authorize the Mayor Pro Tem to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
