THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-100
Approving Bids Related to 2012 Street Repair Project.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello previously published a Notice to Bidders seeking bids on eight separate street repair bid packages, and
WHEREAS, A pre-bid meeting was held on July 12, 2012 per the notice published twice in the Monticello Express, however, only one contractor appeared for the pre-bid meeting, and
WHEREAS, bids were due by 3;00 p.m. on July 13th, and were opened at that time, and
WHEREAS, The City Engineer has carefully reviewed the bids received, and has made, after a review of the unit pricing and other factors, recommendations to the City Council with regard to the proposed hiring of contractors for the bid packages based upon the bids received, and
WHEREAS, After full consideration of the City Engineer’s recommendations, and other relevant factors, the Council finds that the following Bid Packages should be awarded to the contractor indicated adjacent to the Bid Package below:
Bid package #1: Accent Construction $ 6,724.00
Bid package #2: Accent Construction $ 5,830.00
Bid package #3: Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC $51,500.60
Bid package #4: No award made at this time
Bid package #5: Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC $37,048.52
Bid package #6: Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC $76,679.80
Bid package #7: Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC $60,380.65
Bid package #8: Accent Construction $ 2,650.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 16th day of July 2012, that the Bid Packages identified above are awarded to the contractor so indicated herein, and directs the City Administrator to enter into a written agreement with the applicable contractors, setting forth their acceptance of the award and agreement to complete the projects identified within the bid packages as proposed.
