IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-115
Resolution to approve Advertisement for FT Public Works position.
WHEREAS, The City Council has discussed the fact that the PW Department is presently down one employee from “normal” staffing, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds it appropriate to advertise for the FT position in the Monticello Express, two weeks, and for a committee, yet to be determined, of one Council member, the Mayor, The PW Director, and the City Administrator to review the applicants, reducing the pool to a reasonable number of finalists to then be interviewed and considered for employment by the City, with the committee being authorized to move forward with an offer of employment to the person determined to be best suited to the position and in a position to accept the offer of employment without further Council action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the PW. Director to advertise for a FT Public Works position in the Monticello Express, two weeks, and for a committee of one Council member, the Mayor, the PW Director, and the City Administrator to review the applicants, reducing the pool to a reasonable number of finalists to then be interviewed and considered for employment by the City, with the committee being authorized to move forward with an offer of employment to the person determined to be best suited to the position and in a position to accept the offer of employment without further Council action.
