IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-123
Approving Police Department Officer’s Employment Agreement for four years
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello Police Department Officers have been involved in the negotiation of a new four (4) year employment agreement with the Police Chief, in consultation with the City Administrator, and
WHEREAS, The current agreement between the Police Department Officers and the City expires at the end of fiscal year 2012, and
WHEREAS, The City Council, by Resolution 12-94 approved of a 2.5% increase for all officers pending the approval of the proposed Employment Agreement, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator and the Police Chief have modified a couple provisions of the previously proposed agreement, and based on said changes finds that the Agreement as now proposed is agreeable, in the best interests of the City, and fair to the officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council does hereby approve the employment agreement as proposed and directs that the terms of same have an effective date of July 1, 2012, with the City Clerk’s Office to ensure that all benefits and records related thereto take account of the July 1, 2012 effective date, and directs the mayor to execute said agreement on behalf of the City Council.
