RESOLUTION #12-125
Resolution to approve proposed repairs to walls, steps, walk and installation
of decorative “period” lighting behind Community Building.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, Two estimates have been received related to proposed repairs to the stairs, walls, and adjacent walks behind the Community Building, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the repairs are necessary and should be made as soon as possible, and
WHEREAS, The Council has reviewed estimates from Accent Construction and MAC Concrete Construction and finds that the MAC Concrete Construction bid should be approved, and
WHEREAS, The City Council also finds that a new period light fixture of consistent design and color with the 2nd Street fixtures should be installed with the exception of the pole height, same being 15’6”, like the poles at the entrance to the Berndes Center.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 17th day of September, 2012, does hereby approve of the entry into an agreement with MAC Concrete Construction to pursue the repairs proposed and laid out by the MAC estimate in an amount not to exceed $10,234.00 without additional City Council approval, and further directs the City Administrator to order a two head period light fixture, consistent in design and color with the 2nd Street poles with the height of the pole being 15’ 6”, consistent with the Berndes Center entryway poles.
