The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-141
Resolution to waive portion of Steva Sewer bill, 105 Dunham Street,
Monticello, Iowa in the amount of $99.18
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Deb Steva experienced a much higher than normal water/sewer billing for the period covered by billings on July 3, August 7, and September 6, 2012, and
WHEREAS, it has been reported that the substantial increase in water usage by Steva was related to a leak in a pond/waterfall feature in the back yard of the property, resulting in water running freely into the earth, therefore not entering the sanitary sewer system, and not, therefore treated at the Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, based upon the fact that the leaking water did not receive treatment at the sewage treatment facility, the Council finds it appropriate to waive that portion of the sewer billing that exceeds the normal and customary sewer usage by Steva, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that Steva’s sewer billing exceeded a good estimate of her normal usage by $99.18 over the approximate three month period of time during which she reportedly had said leak.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby waive a portion of the Sewer billing on the Steva account, in the amount of $99.18.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed hereto. Done this 5th day of November, 2012.
