IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-163
Resolution accepting bid and awarding contract to Ricklefs Excavating, Ltd. To complete the Walnut Street Sanitary Sewer Repair project.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello sought bids related to the Walnut Street Sanitary Sewer Repair project and received bids from six (6) contractors, and
WHEREAS, The Bid Specifications for said project were prepared by the City Engineer, Snyder and Associates, and
WHEREAS, Due to the cost of the project the City is obligated to follow the Competitive Quotation process outlined by the Iowa Code, which occurred, and
WHEREAS, The City Engineer has been consulted in regard to the bids received and finds no reason to not award the project to Ricklefs Excavating, Ltd., as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator is directed to prepare a contract for execution by the City and Ricklefs that shall include the following specific terms, among other appropriate general terms: The project shall be commenced within sixty (60) days of the date of this resolution and the project shall be complete within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of commencement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby accept the bid received from Ricklefs Excavating, Ltd., finds that their bid was the lowest responsive bid, and finds that they should be awarded the project with the understanding that the City Administrator will see to the preparation of a Contract by and between the City of Monticello and Ricklefs Excavating, that a suitable performance bond be received as part and parcel of the Contract, and that the Contract be signed by the Administrator and Mayor prior to the commencement of work on the project.
