IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-21
Approving Grant Agreements between the City of Monticello and Trees
Forever / Alliant Energy in the amount of $5,000 and Trees Forever / Black Hills
Energy in the amount of $3,500, and authorizing the City Administrator to
execute said agreements on behalf of the City Council
WHEREAS, The City Council previously permitted the submission of grant applications to Trees Forever through the “Branching Out” (Alliant) program and the “Power of Trees” (Black Hills) program, and
WHEREAS, The City has been awarded $5,000 through the “Branching Out” program and $3,500 through the “Power of Trees” program, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the planting of trees in the City of Monticello is a positive and that the City should take advantage of the grant awards with the understanding that a committee of citizens, in consultation with the Council, will put together a formal tree planting plan and schedule for this spring and/or fall, said plan to potentially include additional funding from the City of Monticello
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of and accept the Grant Awards from Trees Forever previously identified herein and does hereby direct the City Administrator to execute said grant agreements on behalf of the City of Monticello.
