RESOLUTION #12-24
Approving amendment to FBO building project by adding heating
updates in the repair bay of the FBO building.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City Council has previously directed staff to explore the potential modification of presently existing heating systems in the bay area of the FBO building based upon a desire to avoid having said units exhaust through the roof of the building, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that two of the units cannot be exhausted through a side wall and that said two units can be replaced with a new direct vent heating unit at an installed cost of $3,767.50, including electrical work related thereto as well as additional work related to the direct venting of the remaining hanging heaters out the sidewall of the building, and
WHEREAS, the Council set aside $20,000 in this year’s budget to cover potential City costs related to the Terminal Building project or other airport needs, and to date has determined that said $20,000 will not be needed, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the project should proceed with the new hanging heater and the related work to vent all heaters out building sidewalls, with the understanding that the additional cost of not to exceed $3,767.50 should be paid by fundraised sums to the extent available, but if not available, then said expense should be satisfied by way of the aforementioned appropriation
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 6th day of February 2012, that the City Administrator is directed to contract with Monk Construction to proceed with the installation of the heater and direct venting of the remaining heaters as noted previously herein at a not to exceed cost of $3,767.50 and to pursue payment of same through fundraised sums, with the understanding that if fundraised sums are not available that the Council shall be presented with a bill for approval through the general fund appropriation.
