IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-94
Approving wages for Police Department Officers for Fiscal Year 2013
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello Police Department Officers have been involved in the negotiation of a new four (4) year employment agreement with the Police Chief, in consultation with the City Administrator, and
WHEREAS, The current agreement between the Police Department Officers and the City expires at the end of this fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the Agreement is substantially complete and agreeable, however, finds that some of the terms and provisions should be re-drafted, taking into account some comments and desires of the Council expressed at this meeting, 6/18/2012, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that an across the board wage increase of 2.5% , same to take effect July 1, 2012, for all Police Department Officers, including Police Sergeant, but not including the Chief of Police is appropriate and should be approved at this time pending final approval of the above-referenced contract
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council does hereby approve an across the board wage increase of 2.5% for all Police Department Officers, including Police Sergeant, but not including the Chief of Police, for period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, all of said wage increases to take effect and be applicable to the first payroll issued during the month of July, 2012, with the further understanding that this pay increase will be incorporated in the proposed employment agreement currently under consideration.
