IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-29a
Resolution authorizing Mayor to execute Letters of Agreement between
City of Monticello and Kelly Demolition and Excavating, LLC
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has acquired seven (7) residential properties and one (1) commercial properties as part of a FEMA supported flood buy out of properties in the Kitty Creek corridor along Locust, Washington, and Grand Street in Monticello, and
WHEREAS, With the assistance of ECICOG, a competitive bidding process was undertaken to obtain bids related to demolition and asbestos abatement, those bids being recently received and tabulated, and
WHEREAS, The low bidder was Kelly Demolition and Excavating, LLC, out of Mt. Vernon, IA, in the total sum of $119,114, and
WHEREAS, The City share of the demolition/abatement process is 15%, or $17,889.60
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize and direct the Mayor to execute the Letters of Agreement between the City of Monticello and Kelly Demolition and Excavating, LLC, in regard to the demolition and asbestos abatement at the properties covered by said agreements, in the respective amounts of $16,600 and $102,514, for a total of $119,114, with the understanding and acknowledgement that the City share will total 15% of the total approved costs.
