The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-63
Resolution to approve removal of Jaycees/Kleinow Field concession stand and to support renovation project with $20,000 pledge from FY 2015 budget.
WHEREAS, Bud Johnson has previously invested substantial sums in improvements on City and School park facilities, and
WHEREAS, Bud has proposed a large renovation project to the Jaycee/Kleinow Fields in the approximate sum of $100,000 and has requested that the City pledge $20,000 towards that project, budgeting same from the Berndes Center budget in FY 2015, and
WHEREAS, to begin action on the project Bud has requested permission to dismantle the existing concession stand that will be replaced with a new structure, with the understanding that the dismantled building is the property of the city and may be sold or scrapped at the City’s discretion, and
WHEREAS, Bud has pledged $30,000 towards the project and intends to oversee a fundraising campaign to raise the balance in donations and grants, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the Park Board has been presented with this plan and is supportive of it moving forward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the removal of the existing concession stand at the Jaycee / Kleinow fields and advertisement for sale, and approves a pledge of $20,000 towards the project, same to be budgeted from the FY ’15 Berndes Center budget.
