The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-81
Resolution to approve payment to 151 Landscape and Construction for rock, fabric, and installation of same at the Aquatic Center.
WHEREAS, Richard Schneiter presented and sought permission from the City Council to landscape the Aquatic Center grounds and indicated that Josh Iben was working with him, and that costs would be covered entirely by fundraising, and
WHEREAS, landscaping was installed by Schneiter and Iben, including plantings, fabric, rock, etc., and
WHEREAS, just prior to the Fair, in July, the Council approved payment to Iben in an amount not to exceed $2,000 for additional rock, to complete areas left undone, and
WHEREAS, The additional rock was installed and invoiced to the City as part of the invoice presented for approval at this time, and
WHEREAS, Subsequent to the payment for the rock, requested and approved by the City, the City received the present invoice in the amount of $3,595.92 from Iben / 151 Landscape for rock, fabric, and labor related to all of his efforts at the Aquatic Center, and
WHEREAS, Schneiter informed the Council that no fundraising has been done to date, and that the fundraising committee took the summer off but would soon begin fundraising efforts, with the first money brought in being used to reimburse the City for any expenditures towards the aquatic center project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize and approve of the payment to Josh Iben / 151 Landscape, in the amount of $3,595.92 with the understanding that the fundraising campaign to be pursued by Schneiter and others will use any fundraised sums to repay the City the full amount of all payments to Iben from City funds related to the Aquatic Center project.
