The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-206
Approving payment to Rathje Construction in the amount of $74,594.14 related to the 190th Street Sewer Extension project, with 5% retainage to be withheld as noted herein.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello, Iowa is an incorporated city within Jones County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Rathje Construction was hired to install an extension of sanitary sewer main along 190th Street., and
WHEREAS, Rathje has completed said work, under the oversight of the City Engineer, and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer who has recommended that payment be made to the contractor, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds it appropriate to pay Rathje the full amount earned less 5% retainage, with City Staff being directed to pay the retainage without additional Council action after the expiration of thirty days from the approval hereof, or longer if staff finds there to be a reason to withhold the release of said retainage.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve Payment to Rathje Construction in the amount of $74,594.14, with $70,864.43 to be paid now, holding retainage of $3,729.71 to be paid after the passage of thirty (30) days so long as City staff finds no reason to continue to withhold the retainage, said retainage to be released without further Council action unless deemed necessary by staff.
