IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-43
Resolution to approve the removal of Willow Street from Oak Street to the approximate point at which it meets the curb and gutter on Washington and the removal of Locust Street, from the intersection of Locust and Grand to the intersection of
Locust and E. 1st Street
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the development of the park environment in the flood buy out area no longer justifies the continued existence of Willow Street or the last block of Locust Street between Grand and E. 1st Street, and
WHEREAS, The City finds that the removals should be immediately pursued to take advantage of contractor availability and seeding windows, and
WHEREAS, The council finds that the City Administrator should obtain bids for said removal and present said bids to the Council at the next earliest opportunity for consideration and approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct the City Administrator to seek bids to remove Willow Street from its’ intersection with Oak Street to that point at which it meets with Curb and Gutter on Washington Street and to remove the block of Locust Street between Grand Street and E. 1st Street, and to bring bids related to said removal to the City Council for consideration and approval as soon as they are available.
