The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-49
Resolution to approve credits to the Utility Accounts of various Monticello residents related to the excessive use of water to prevent frozen service lines.
WHEREAS, the Council has been aware of citizens running water within their property to avoid the prospect of a frozen water service line and/or a frozen sewer line, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds the act of running water by said residents to have been justified, the community facing many frozen service lines during the last winter, and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator with the assistance of the Deputy City Clerk determined average uses for those residents that allowed their water to run and compared said average use to notable above average periods during which it was clear that the resident ran their water to avoid freezing lines, and
WHEREAS, based upon the above utility account review it was determined that the following credits, with any and all applicable taxes to be credited as well, were justified and appropriate and should therefore be approved.
1. Digmann – 633 N. Sycamore Street $138.19
2. Eilers – 623 N. Sycamore Street $ 9.69
3. Schemmel – 712 S. Chestnut Street $155.71
4. Mootz – 227 N. Main Street $ 38.77
5. Ott – 231 N. Main Street $258.82
6. McClendon – 428 N. Sycamore Street $157.88
7. Yeoman & Company – 16525 Hardscrabble Road $ 83.29
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the granting of credits to the accounts of those persons at those addresses identified above and directs the City Clerk’s Office to appropriately credit the accounts in the amounts disclosed above.
