RESOLUTION #14-64
To Approve Purchase of Tax Parcel #0228230028 from Tax Certificate/
Deed holder in in the amount of $600.00
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has been approached by the purchaser of a tax sale parcel, #0228230028, same lying within the City limits of the City of Monticello, and in an area where the City maintains an alleyway and storm sewer, and
WHEREAS, The maintained alleyway and storm sewer have been in that location and maintained by the City for many years, with the storm sewer recently being enclosed, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to avoid a disagreement over the City’s right to maintain a storm sewer and alleyway in this area the City would be best off to negotiate the purchase of the parcel from the tax sale purchaser, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds it appropriate to authorize the City Administrator to negotiate the purchase of the tax sale certificate in an amount not to exceed $600.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its City Council, in session this 16th day of June, 2015, that the City Administrator is hereby authorized to negotiate the purchase of Tax Sale Certificate #0228230028 in an amount not to exceed $600.00.
