The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-88
Approving Change Order #1 in the amount of $16,459.68 and releasing
retainage in the amount of $1,700 to Midwest Concrete Inc.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello, Iowa is an incorporated city within Jones County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete, Inc. contracted with the City to perform various street repairs, said projects being generally referred to as the 2013-2014 Street Repair Projects, and
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete, Inc. has completed the agreed upon work and has billed the City consistent with the bid unit costs at appropriate quantities, submitting their 1st and only pay request in the amount of $74,690.18, including $1,700 related to final grading and seeding, and
WHEREAS, A review of the Bid Packages reveals that none of the work performed in Bid Package #2 is TIF eligible, all of same, therefore, to be paid from the City of Monticello Capital Improvement Fund, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the work performed exceeded the original bid quantity estimates, and that the analysis of final quantities justifies the above payment, consistent with unit pricing provided in the original bid documents and approved and accepted by the City, and that the final quantity analysis resulted in a total project cost increase in the amount of $16,459.06, and that same should be approved as Project Change Order #1, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the project has now been satisfactorily completed and that the retainage in the amount of $1,700 should be released in full.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve Change Order #1 in the amount of $16,459.60 and further approves and authorizes payment of the previously held retainage in the amount of $1,700.00 to the contractor.
