RESOLUTION NO.14-91
Finally approving and confirming plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the proposed 2014 190th Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, and awarding contract to Rathje Construction.
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore given preliminary approval to the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost (the “Contract Documents”) for the proposed 2014 190th Street Sanitary Sewer Extension project, as described in the resolution providing for a notice of hearing on the Contract Documents for the Project and the taking of bids therefor; and
WHEREAS, a hearing has been held on the Contract Documents, and
WHEREAS, bids have been received, opened, and reviewed for compliance purposes, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the lowest responsive bid was submitted by Rathje Construction, and the City Engineer finds Rathje Construction to be a responsible bidder and recommends that the City Council award the project to Rathje Construction in the amount of $83,620.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Monticello, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. The Contract Documents referred to in the preamble hereof are hereby finally approved, and the prior action of the Council giving preliminary approval is hereby finally confirmed, and the Project, as provided for in the Contract Documents, is necessary and desirable.
Section 2. That Rathje Construction is a responsible bidder and submitted the lowest responsive bid, and the City Engineer has recommended that the City award the project to Rathje Construction, and, therefore, the Council does hereby accept the bids and awards the project to Rathje Construction Company, directing the City Administrator and City Engineer to enter into appropriate contractual documents with said contractor.
