IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-99
Resolution to approve 1st Amendment to Water Tower Lease Agreement between Sprint (iPCS) and the City of Monticello.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello and Sprint (iPCS) entered into an agreement in 2001 associated with the placement of antennas on the “old” City water tower and some equipment beneath it, on City property, and
WHEREAS, Said lease agreement is set to expire in February, 2016 and Sprint has suggested the negotiation of a lease amendment to extend the lease for a period of five years with three optional five year renewal terms, with rent to increase by 15% effective March 1, 2016 and to increase by 3% each year thereafter that the lease agreement continues in effect, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the renegotiated lease agreement is reasonable and appropriate, in the best interest of the City, and should, therefore, be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the proposed First Amendment to Water Tower Attachment Option and Lease Agreement and authorizes the Mayor to execute same on behalf of the City Council.
