The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #15-100
Approving the hiring of Monti Plumbing, Heating, and Electric to install service, lighting, and outlets at Willow Street Shelter.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello acquired a building that was converted to a shelter as part of a FEMA supported flood buy out, and
WHEREAS, The City now utilizes the shelter as part of our Parks system, home to an ice skating rink in the winter, serving Disc Golf Course users, a horseshoe pit to be installed in the spring, and intended to serve other purposes moving forward, and
WHEREAS, The shelter does not currently have electricity, and electricity will be needed to power parking area lighting, lights within the shelter, and outlets within the shelter, and
WHEREAS, City staff sought bids to install a service, electric panel, conduit and wiring, and lighting from three contractors, receiving two bids with one choosing not to bid, and
WHEREAS, The low bid was received from Monti Plumbing Heating and Electric in the estimated amount of $12,624, and the Council finds that said project should move forward and that Monti Plumbing Heating and Electric should be hired to perform said services as set out in their bid.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize the hiring of Monti Plumbing Heating & Electric to install necessary electric improvements to the Willow Street Shelter as noted in their estimate dated 10/20/2015 in the estimated amount of $12,624.00
