IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 15-30
Scheduling Public Hearing on potential transfer of City owned property adjacent to and north of Oakwood Cemetery in return for property adjacent to and east of Oakwood Cemetery for April 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
WHEREAS, the City Cemetery Board has proposed to the City Council that it is in the best interests of the City of Monticello to trade a parcel of property currently owned by the City lying north of the boundaries of the developed Oakwood Cemetery for a parcel of property lying adjacent to and east of the developed Oakwood Cemetery that is currently owned by Mike Kraus, and
WHEREAS, the specific dimensions of the proposed parcels to be traded will be determined by professional survey and compensation will be paid from the City to Kraus or Kraus to the City depending upon the acreage of the parcels to be traded, and
WHEREAS, before the City may transfer City owned property a public hearing must be held after appropriate public notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby schedule Public Hearing on the proposed property transfer for the 20th day of April, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., to be held in the Council Chambers at the Mary Lovell LeVan Renaissance Center, with appropriate notice to be published in the Monticello Express.
