IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #15-74
Approving the hiring of LL Pelling Co. to complete City Sealcoating
projects on Crescent Drive and Maple Street.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello sought proposals from two companies in the area that perform sealcoating, LL Pelling and Kluesner, with LL Pelling submitting proposals in response to those requests and Kluesner choosing not to submit proposals at this time, and
WHEREAS, City staff have identified two streets in need of sealcoating that would be good street to have hired done so as to give the City a feel for total project costs, time involved, and quality as compared to sealcoating projects performed by City staff, with one of the proposed streets to include a scarification or removal of sealcoat, rebuilding of the base, and re-sealcoating, a process the City does not have the equipment to perform, and
WHEREAS, The two projects and total estimated project costs are as follows:
1. Crescent Drive: $7,527.05
2. Maple Street (10th – 11th) $11,194
Other:
Cold patch, $200/Ton, estimated total: $6,000
Road Stone, $18/Ton, estimated total: $3,420
WHEREAS, The Council finds the hiring of LL Pelling Co. to perform the sealcoating projects proposed herein to be appropriate and directs the PW Director to accept the proposals of LL Pelling and to schedule these projects for completion this fall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the hiring of LL Pelling Co. to complete sealcoating projects as set forth herein and authorizes the PW Director to accept the proposals of LL Pelling Co. on behalf of the City.
