The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #16-85
Accepting Hail Storm Repair Bids and award projects to lowest responsible, responsive bidders.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello suffered significant hail damage as a result of a hail storm occurring in the summer of 2014, and
WHEREAS, The City recently advertised for bids on a number of remaining hailstorm related projects and received bids on eight (8) separate bid packages from three local contractors, and
WHEREAS, The City’s Insurance Adjuster has reviewed the bid tabulation and has consented to the hiring of the lowest responsible, responsive bidders, to wit:
Barnhart Construction Co.: Bid Packages related to Location 1 (Ren. Center), Location 11 (Cemetery), Locations 8 & 10 (Water Well Buildings), and Location 15 (Gazebo / Riverside Park)
Monk Construction: Bid Packages related to Location 22 (Airport) and Location 33 & 9 (Fire Dpt. and Small Well House behind Public Safety Building)
Advance Construction: Bid Packages related to Location 12 & 13 (Aquatic Center) and Location 5 (Sewer Plant)
WHEREAS, The City Council finds the bids to be appropriate, approved by the Insurance Adjuster, and the completion of the projects to be in the best interests of the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby accept the Hail Storm repair bids and does hereby approve the hiring of Barnhart Construction Co., Monk Construction, and Advance Construction to complete the projects for which they submitted the low bid as noted within the body of this Resolution.
IN THE TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal for the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed. Done this 15th day of August, 2016.
