The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #18-24
Resolution setting forth position of the City Council with regard to the desired future land use of
County Shop property located at 307 W. 5th Street, Monticello.
WHEREAS, The County Shop moved from its 5th Street location to a location just outside of the City limits off of Hwy. 38, and
WHEREAS, The old County shop remains owned by the County and due to County ownership has never been zoned, and
WHEREAS, The P & Z has discussed the issue and the consensus of the Board was that the property should be zoned residential, either R-1, 2, or 3, and
WHEREAS, In the event the County markets the property all potential buyers should be aware of the authorized use of said property, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that it would be appropriate for said property to be zoned residential and to so advise the County at this time that the City will be taking steps to move forward with the process to re-zone said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby authorize and direct the City Administrator to notify the County Board of Supervisors of the intent of the Council to move forward with the process to re-zone the old County Shop property as residential.
