THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #18-36
Accepting bids and awarding contracts related to 2018 Street Repair Projects
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello previously published a Notice to Bidders seeking bids on five separate street repair bid packages, and
WHEREAS, The Public Works Director has delivered bid packages to many local contractors who may be interested in the proposed work and has also been available to meet with and answer any and all contractor questions related to the bid packages, and
WHEREAS, bids were due on Friday March 2nd at 10:00 AM, and bids were received from four contractors and were opened shortly thereafter, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator and Public Works Director have carefully reviewed the bids received, and based thereon do hereby make the following recommendations to the City Council with regard to the award of bids and entry into independent contractor agreements, to wit:
Bid package #1: Accent Construction $ 31,393.75
Bid package #2: Midwest Concrete $ 25,522.50
Bid package #3: MAC Concrete $ 32,105.00
Bid package #4: MAC Concrete $ 9,483.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 5th day of March 2018, that the Bids identified above are hereby accepted and awarded to the contractor indicated herein, and directs the City Administrator to enter into a written agreement with the applicable contractors, setting forth their acceptance of the award and agreement to complete the projects identified within the bid packages as proposed.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal for the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed. Done this 5th day of March, 2018.
