THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA

RESOLUTION #2020-81

Resolution Approving the Residential Anti Displacement & Relocation Assistance Plan Policy, Equal Opportunity Policy, Excessive Force Policy and Affirmative Fair Housing Policy related to the CDBG Grant and Scheduling a Public Hearing for July 20, 2020 at 6:00 pm

WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has historically followed Iowa Law with regard to various policies, but has not otherwise had written Residential Anti Displacement & Relocation Assistance Plan Policy, Equal Opportunity Policy, Excessive Force Policy and Affirmative Fair Housing Policy, and

WHEREAS, The City applies for grants from time to time for Federal Funding and in many cases the grants request a copy of the City’s Residential Anti Displacement & Relocation  Assistance Plan Policy, Equal Opportunity Policy, Excessive Force  Policy and Affirmative Fair Housing Policy, and

WHEREAS, The Council finds that having the Residential Anti Displacement & Relocation  Assistance Plan Policy, Equal Opportunity Policy, Excessive Force  Policy and Affirmative Fair Housing Policy will be beneficial when it comes to applying for grants that require proof of same, and that the proposed policy will satisfy those requirements and provide guidance to the City as part of a federally funded project that requires a specific policies and that the policies as proposed should be approved, recognizing that the policies may require amendment from time to time as federal regulations may dictate, and

WHEREAS, The Council is required to hold a Public Hearing for the CDBG grant in the amount of $2,295.00 to purchase a UV disinfecting light for the ambulance service and Accountability Software and Equipment for the Fire Department. Public Hearing notice to be published scheduling hearing to be held on July 20, 2020 at 6 PM.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 7th day of October that the City Administrator does hereby approve the City of Monticello Residential Anti Displacement & Relocation  Assistance Plan Policy, Equal Opportunity Policy, Excessive Force  Policy and Affirmative Fair Housing Policy, as attached hereto. Furthermore, scheduling a Public Hearing to be held on July 20, 2020 at 6 PM, related to the CDBG grant in the amount of $2,295.00 to purchase a UV disinfecting light for the ambulance service and Accountability Software and Equipment for the Fire Department.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal for the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed.  Done this 6th day of July, 2020.
