THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA

RESOLUTION #2024-51

Approving Jones County Tourism Investment and Agreement for FY ’25 in the

amount of $1,212.00, plus 4% of the Monticello Hotel/Motel tax

WHEREAS, Jones County Tourism has requested an investment in their Organization from the City of Monticello, and

WHEREAS, the Monticello City Council has considered the request made by Jones County Tourism, and has determined it appropriate to invest in Jones County Tourism, by way of an investment in the amount of $1,212.00 for FY 2025, same representing a $.30 cent per capita investment, plus $1,433.60, which is 4% of the Monticello Hotel/Motel Taxes collected in FY 2023 for a total of $2,645.60 and

WHEREAS, the Monticello City Council reviewed agreement with Jones County Tourism to support tourism in Jones County, and

WHEREAS, the Agreement with the above entity is subject to renewal annually, with the agreement for FY ’25 being approved in the amount of $1,212.00 for FY 2025, same representing a $.30 cent per capita investment, plus 4% of the Monticello Hotel/Motel Tax collected in FY 2023, and

WHEREAS, the Monticello City Council has considered the request made by Jones County Tourism, and has determined it appropriate to invest in tourism in Jones County, and.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 18th day of March, 2024 that the City of Monticello

does hereby approve the agreement with Jones County Tourism, previously mentioned herein, and does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute the same on behalf of the City Council.  City of Monticello shall budget for and invest in Jones County Tourism in the amount of $1,212.00 for FY 2025, same representing a $.30 cent per capita investment, plus 4% of the Monticello Hotel/Motel Tax. plus $1,433.60, which is 4% of the Monticello Hotel/Motel Taxes collected in FY 2023 for a total of $2,645.60.
