RESOLUTION #2026-77
Approving Purchase of “Brushcat” from Bobcat of Cedar Rapids
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello Park and Recreation Department has proposed the purchase of a new Brushcat attachment to improve maintenance operations throughout the parks and trail systems in the amount of $9,665.39, and
WHEREAS, The Brushcat will be utilized for a variety of maintenance needs, including trail upkeep, vegetation management along trails, clearing and maintaining creek beds and pond shorelines, and prairie maintenance both along Highway 151 and within park properties, and
WHEREAS, The City Council recognized that the Brushcat may be used by more than just the Park and Recreation Department and recognized that the cost may be split with the Water and Sewer Departments, and
WHEREAS, The City Council recognized that newer equipment utilizes high-flow hydraulics and encouraged staff to look into the purchase of a high-flow version, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the purchase of a Brushcat with the purchase price of $9,665.39, with up to an additional $3,000 approved to upgrade to a high-flow hydraulic version.
