The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 10-115
Resolution to approve Building Permit fees on Agricultural zoned property.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello assessed fees related to the issuance of building permits within the corporate limits of Monticello, and
WHEREAS, The fees so assessed are periodically reviewed and approved by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, It had been historically interpreted that buildings being erected or improved that were located on property zoned agricultural did not need a building permit and did not, therefore, pay a building permit fee, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds no present justification for the waiver of the requirement of obtaining a building permit and paying the appropriate fee regardless of the zoning classification of the property and finds, therefore, that any and all zoning classifications should be treated the same with building permits and applicable fees required for all applicable projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct that the Public Works Director and/or the Zoning Administrator require building permits and assess fees related thereto to all projects, regardless of the zoning of the property on which the project is to occur, in identical fashion from one zoning district to another, throughout the city limits of the City of Monticello.
