RESOLUTION #11-117
Resolution approving Lease Agreement between City of Monticello and USCOC (US Cellular) related to transmitter/repeater equipment at Emergency Response Center
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The Monticello Police and Ambulance Departments have experienced difficulty in obtaining cell phone reception in the Emergency Response Center, and
WHEREAS, The Police Chief and the Ambulance Director have worked with US Cellular to find a solution to their reception problem and have determined that the installation of a repeater by US Cellular in the facility is the best solution, and to that end a lease agreement has been drafted for consideration by the City, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator has reviewed the lease, questioned some of the terms of the lease, and received responses to those questions to his satisfaction, and based thereon recommends that the lease be approved, and
WHEREAS, the lease agreement requires a one-time lease payment by the City to the Owner of the repeater, US Cellular, in the amount of $1,651.45, said amount being anticipated by the budgets of the Police and Ambulance Departments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 15th day of August, 2011, does hereby authorize the Police Chief Britt Smith to execute the lease agreement on behalf of the City as drafted and authorizes the City Clerk to see to the payment of the lease amount totaling $1,651.45.
