RESOLUTION #12-120
Resolution to approve of purchase of two 6” pumps related to
Sewage Treatment Plant levee protection system.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City previously constructed an earthen levee around the City of Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, In times of flooding of the Maquoketa River it will be necessary to pump treated sewage from the plant side of the levee to the river side of the levee, and
WHEREAS, It has been determined that the purchase of two used 6” trash pumps will meet the need of the City in those times of flooding and that the pumps will also be of use at other times for other City needs, and
WHEREAS, after investigation and research, it is the recommendation of the P.W. Director that the City Council approve of the purchase of two used Godwin 6” Dri-Prime trailer mounted pumps for a total cost of $36,982.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 4th day of September, 2012, that the purchase of two used Godwin 6” Dri-Prime trailer mounted pumps for a total cost of $36,982.00 is hereby approved.
