IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-27
Approving the renegotiation of the 28E Emergency Services Agreement by and between the City of Hopkinton and the City of Monticello
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello, Iowa is an incorporated City within Jones County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, The Monticello City Council previously entered into a 28E Emergency Services Agreement with the City of Hopkinton, same being approved by City of Monticello Resolution #08-58 and City of Hopkinton Resolution #06-2008, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello finds that although the relationship is mutually beneficial that the agreement should be renegotiated to ensure that the investment by the City of Hopkinton is commensurate with the benefits derived by the City of Hopkinton.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct the City Administrator to appropriately notify the City of Hopkinton of the City Council’s approval of this Resolution directing that the referenced 28E Agreement be renegotiated and take steps necessary to begin those discussions with the City of Hopkinton.
