IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-96
Resolution to approve purchase of McNeilus Garbage Truck Packer / Rear Loader and International Chassis.
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the purchase of a new garbage truck, which includes the packer and the chassis, and has borrowed funds for that purpose, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has acquired bids from two equipment providers, Elliott Equipment and McNeilus, and
WHEREAS, the P.W. Director recommends that the City proceed with the purchase of the Truck Packer / Loader at a cost of $61,962, and
WHEREAS, the P.W. Director has also obtained cost information from Hawkeye Truck and Trailer on the chassis which is based upon the state bid and recommends that we proceed with the purchase of the International truck from Hawkeye Truck and Trailer, in the approximate cost of $75,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the purchase of the McNeilus Garbage Truck Packer / Rear Loader and International Chassis to replace the oldest truck in our Sanitation fleet, a 2003 International 7400 with 20CY Heil 4000 which will be sold, the proceeds resulting from the sale to be deposited into a Sanitation Equipment set-a-side fund.
