The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-98
Resolution to waive portion of Spensely Sewer bill, 285 N. Pine Street, Monticello, IA.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Mark Spensely experienced a much higher than normal water/sewer billing for the period of 4/4/2012 to 5/14/2012, and
WHEREAS, it has been reported that the substantial increase in water usage by Spensely was related to a hose being unintentionally left on in the yard, allowing the water to run freely into the lawn, therefore not entering the sanitary sewer system, and was therefore not treated at the Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, based upon the fact that the leaking water did not receive treatment at the sewage treatment facility, the Council finds it appropriate to waive that portion of the sewer billing that exceeds the normal and customary sewer usage by Spensely, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the normal sewer usage billing for Spensely was approximately $50.84 per month, and finds, therefore, that the sewage billing of $83.94 if reduced by the normal usage of $50.84, would support a credit of $33.10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby waive a portion of the Sewer billing on the Spensely account, as described herein, in the amount of $33.10.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed hereto. Done this 2nd day of July, 2012.
