IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-65
Resolution to approve purchase of Airport Snow Removal Equipment.
WHEREAS, the Monticello Regional Airport Five year plan has provided for the purchase of a new Snow Plow Truck and related equipment, and
WHEREAS, The Airport has hired and worked through City Airport Engineer Snyder and Associates to take the steps necessary to seek bids and submit necessary paperwork to qualify for the Federal AIP investment in this purchase, and
WHEREAS, After taking the appropriate steps to bid the project, a low bid, in the amount of $150,093 has been received from Truck Country in Dubuque/Cedar Rapids to provide the desired truck and plow equipment, same being approximately $10,000 less than the bid estimate provided by the City Engineer, and
WHEREAS, The Council acceptance of the bid and approval of the purchase remains subject to the approval of the bid by the FAA, the allocation of funds by the FAA, and the award of a grant to the City by the FAA, all being anticipated to occur, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the Airport Board has recommended that the bid as proposed be accepted and that the City Council approve the bid and authorize the purchase at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby accept the bids related to the aforementioned purchase and authorizes the purchase of a truck and related equipment as recommended by the engineer and the board at a total cost of $150,093.00, same being contingent upon FAA approval and funding in the amount of 90%, and authorizes the City Administrator and/or Mayor to execute a grant agreement with the FAA when presented so long as same is consistent with the terms as approved herein.
