RESOLUTION #14-85
Accepting bids and awarding Contracts related to 2014-2015
Bid Packages #1, #2, and #3.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello previously pursued bids related to three separate street repair bid packages, and
WHEREAS, A pre-bid meeting was held on August 5th and bids were received from three (3) contractors and opened on Wednesday August 13th, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator and Public Works Director have carefully reviewed the bids received and also reviewed the bids with the City Engineer, and based thereon do hereby make the following recommendations to the City Council with regard to the award of bids and entry into independent contractor agreements, to wit:
Bid package #1: Accent Construction
Bid package #2: Accent Construction
Bid package #3: Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC

WHEREAS, Because the bid packages did not include specified quantities, the quantities to be determined during and at the conclusion of the project, the unit pricing portion of the bids formed the basis of the bid review, with the lower unit pricing being deemed to be the low bid, and, under that review process the above bidders were the low bidders and are deemed to be responsible bidders capable of performing the work set out within the bid packages.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 18th day of August 2014, that the Bid Packages identified above are awarded to the contractor so indicated herein, and directs the City Administrator to enter into a written agreement with the applicable contractors, setting forth their acceptance of the award and agreement to complete the projects identified within the bid packages as proposed.
